From a typological perspective, the building follows a five-strip distribution: a central core containing services and illuminated by six internal courtyards is flanked by two lateral corridors. These latter distribute six classrooms per side, with a canteen at one end and spaces for teaching staff and custodian at the other end.
This layout, combined with the shed roof design, ensures consistent and diffused overhead lighting even in the building’s central areas. The gymnasium volume, flanked by hallways and services, extends beyond the main complex’s footprint with an overhang that projects its large glass wall toward the city.
Although part of the same structure, the school and gym are separated by a wide pedestrian path—partially open-air and partially covered—that creates permeability between the town of Albinia and the new school complex. This path allows for independent public access to the gym, enabling its use as an auditorium or venue for public events, exhibitions, and social gatherings.
